NEIL STANAWAY
BEng (Hons) CEng MIStructE

Special Expertise


Neil has considerable experience in structural engineering design and analysis, having worked as a project engineer on many construction schemes, using both major and specialist construction methods and materials.  His office based experience includes multi-storey steel and timber frame buildings, bridge assessments and computational analysis of complex structures.

Career Details


Having obtained an Honours Degree in Civil Engineering from Surrey University in June 1989, which included a year long period of industrial training, Neil joined Archibald Shaw in August of that year as a Graduate Engineer.  

 

Neil commenced a three year period of supervised practical training under the Institution of Structural Engineers sponsored training scheme in January 1990, whilst developing his practical structural engineering skills in many forms of construction.

 

Neil passed the Institution of Structural Engineers’ Part 3 examination in April 1994 becoming a Chartered Engineer in October of that year.

 

Since becoming Chartered Neil has continued to gain varied and comprehensive experience of structural engineering working on numerous projects including; Canary Wharf main tower roof structure, the construction of 3 new private hospitals at Goring, Haywards Heath and Chichester, a new sports centre at Bognor Regis and a major learning resource centre at Chichester College of Arts, Science & Technology.  He has worked on numerous projects of a considerable range of value from minor works to substantial contracts including many for West Sussex County Council.
