LAWRENCE JUPP BSc (Hons) CEng MIStructE
Larry’s special expertise is in the use of steelwork and he has been responsible for the structural design of many buildings, throughout the United Kingdom. His work can be seen on all manner of buildings in the public and private sector. During recent years Larry continues to be responsible for the structural design of hospitals, schools, colleges, industrial buildings, petrol filling stations and housing developments.
Prior to obtaining his degree Larry undertook training in structural detailing with a steelwork fabricator and, as part of his formal training, was involved in highway design projects with West Sussex County Council.
Larry joined Archibald Shaw as a Graduate Engineer involved in the design of structures in reinforced concrete, structural steel and other materials. As a Project Engineer Larry developed his skill and experience in structural steelwork and in 1978 joined a steelwork supplier as Chief Engineer responsible for the design office.
In 1982 Larry re-joined Archibald Shaw as Senior Engineer and became a Director of the practice in 1989.
Larry is involved with projects at every stage of development from conception to construction and maintains a close liaison with clients and other members of the design team.
Larry’s interests out of the office include cycling, trekking (Kilimanjaro in 2009) and supporting (now partly owning) Portsmouth Football Club.
