DirectorsAll of the directors of Archibald Shaw are chartered engineers and members of relevant professional institutions.They all play an active role in the day to day professional work of the practice. Peter Willmott, chartered structural engineer, joined the practice in 1972 and is now the senior director of the company with responsibility for general management. He qualified at Guildford Technical College and has wide experience in structures and foundations for buildings. He takes particular interest in the work of structural restoration of historic buildings.
Jonathan Rains, chartered civil engineer, joined the practice in Chichester in 1972 after graduating from Birmingham University. He has been responsible for the Newbury office since establishing it in 1984. He has considerable experience in a wide range of buildings and structures both new and historic.
Lawrence Jupp, chartered structural engineer and graduate of London University, has been responsible for many large projects from the Chichester office. He takes particular interest in structural steelwork design, and computer applications in structural and civil engineering design.
Vincent Carpenter, chartered civil engineer and graduate of London University, joined the practice in 1994 having gained extensive experience with local authorities. He has overall responsibility for civil engineering work within the practice with particular knowledge and experience of highway structures, earthworks, drainage and contract administration.
Neil Grinham, chartered structural engineer, joined the Newbury office in 1998. Qualified following studies at Guildford Technical College. He has extensive experience with historic and listed buildings, and he has a particular interest in diagnosing structural defects.
